Women’s Hormone Support
I have recently entered into my perimenopause era. While I am not sure how I feel about that, I do know it’s part life and I have to figure out new ways to cope with things. One thing I’ve been reading up on is about hormones and if they’re out of sync it can reek havoc on you. I have high stress among other things. I have high hopes that this can help me to regulate my hormones better so I feel more “normal” on a daily basis. I know it’s not a magic pill and I’ll have to change many other things as well (ahem, diet and exercise specifically), but I figured it couldn’t hurt to try and add in support.I don’t normally purchase supplements, but when I do, making sure they are third party tested is an absolute must! So that was something I appreciated about this one. I’ve also seen it on store shelves which helps. I like that there aren’t a bunch of cruddy filler ingredients in it either. It’s all pretty straight forward. This is a 30 day supply and you take 4 capsules a day. There is a slight smell, but it’s not off putting, just that of normal supplement type smell. I didn’t notice a taste, although I do typically take them with my milk in the morning. Size wise, they’re average in size. I’ll add a photo with it next to a building block, as I didn’t have easy access to a tape measure at the time.One thing I didn’t love was that when I click on the brands name it doesn’t pull up their Amazon “storefront”. It actually doesn’t pull up anything. However, upon receiving everything looked legitimate to the brand seen in stores. There was a clear plastic seal, as well as a paper seal under the cap, which are both definite must haves with any supplement. I have been taking these for about a week now, so hopefully in time I’ll see a difference, which I am certainly looking forward to!

Long-term benefits TBD, but a word of warning
First of all I will say that the dosage of 4 pills per day seems crazy to me. I’ve only been taking 2 per day and I wouldn’t want to go higher than that. I was excited to try this supplement specifically because of the inositol — I have PCOS and am constantly on the lookout for options to help improve my symptoms. A few weeks in and I’ve found I prefer taking these at night because they seem to improve my sleep, which was an unexpected benefit. I haven’t yet noticed any benefits when I tried taking the pills in the morning, however, but I know these things tend to take time to notice a difference.Unfortunately within a couple days of taking these, I also started to experience increasingly large amounts of spotting which is unusual for me. It was pretty obviously due to these pills, because when I stopped taking them the spotting eased up and when I restarted them it came back. I am on continuous use birth control due to my PCOS so not sure if the supplement is somehow interfering with those hormones, but after looking into it this is apparently not an uncommon side effect of inositol supplements. I’m going to try to finish the bottle and see if things settle down, because I really want these to work, but I already struggle with low iron levels so if the spotting continues I will unfortunately have to discontinue use. I’m sure not everyone will experience this side effect but just wanted to raise awareness about it.

The Good:Well-formulated with the correct 40:1 inositol ratio (2,000mg myo-inositol, 50mg d-chiro inositol) backed by research for PCOS support. Includes high-dose Vitamin D (5,000 IU) and methylated folate. Properly sealed. Take 4 capsules daily for full dose. Does say Made in USA on the bottle, which is a rarity for Amazon supplements.Concerns:No physical address on bottle or website – only lists “Summit, NJ 07901” with no street address. This is a red flag for transparency.Brand primarily focuses on GLP-1 medication users (Ozempic, Wegovy), not PCOS specificallyAt $32/month (at time of review), moderately priced but claimed results take 2-3 monthsVerified: Dr. Alexandra Sowa is a real, board-certified physician at NYU. However, I’d expect more transparency from a physician-founded brand.Bottom Line: The supplement itself has quality ingredients at proper doses, but the lack of a physical address and brand positioning give me pause. There are other inositol options with better transparency.

Sadly, So Long, SoWell
I ordered SoWell Synced Women’s Hormone Balance Supplement with Inositol to help with some condition I have, understanding that Inositol contributes to the development and growth of cells. Also inositol helps to “regulate the body’s response to insulin and affecting neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine,” as per Google AI.I am using other SoWell supplements and feel comfortable with the brand. SoWell is manufactured in New Jersey and their website is getsowell.com. The bottle does not mention any specific manufacturing practices, like GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).After receiving the product and conducting further research, I have found that I am not supposed to combine Myo-Inosital/D-Chiro Inositol with a prescription medication I am taking for life. I’m so disappointed, as I was looking forward to adding it to my arsenal of health supplements.
