Does a great job, and is actually kind of cute!
We have 2 Great Danes and 2 cats, and we have 5 other air purifiers in our house, (all different brands, all in bedrooms/office – we placed this Alen in our main living area). This is by far my favorite one I’ve ever used.1) It absolutely WORKS. We work hard to keep our house clean, but the sheer number and size of our animals is hard to combat… I notice far less ‘animals live here’ smell when I get home from work.2) The air quality sensor is very responsive and honestly fascinating. It changes colors when my dogs walk past it 😳. If we’re cooking, it goes from blue to orange. My husband was painting a hallway on the other end of the house, and this thing picked up on it. So I see it working in real time on dander, smoke, and VOCs.3) I appreciate the child lock, because as shown in my video my giant dogs WILL try to turn it off with their snouts.4) Quiet. This is in our living room, so I don’t want that ambient noise. I keep it 24/7 on Auto and never notice it.5) It’s attractive and unobtrusive. I like the ‘flat to the wall’ style it has. Other air purifiers I have need clearance on every side or out the back, which makes them annoying to place.6) You don’t HAVE to install the app/have it on wifi to use it. It has touch buttons for everything you need, so it is plug and use immediately.The possible negatives:1) The replacement filters are expensive, BUT – they need to be replaced far less frequently than other brands. So, to me the cost evens out to be the same as the cheaper filters I’m replacing 4x per year. And it’s more convenient for me… I definitely would rather spend more to replace less often.2) There is no option to turn off the light completely. I am a vampire sleeper and like total darkness… I would NOT be able to have this LED light in my bedroom (even low is still pretty bright), or else I would need to cover it with those light blocking stickers.As I said before I have amassed FIVE other air purifiers in all the other rooms of our house… Both lower and higher price points, and this is still my favorite. I’m hoping to eventually switch all over to Alen (except maybe in our bedroom, until they give an option to turn the light off completely).

I have an evaporative cooler and on those hot smokey days I can not run it because of the smoke it brings into the house. On those smokey days, I put a furnace filter in the outlet of the cooler and that helps to cut the smoke a bit. But, this seems to be the perfect combination solution to keep the cool air flowing and capture the smoke.What I wasn’t prepared for was the information I get about the air quality in my house while the cooler is running. I knew my house had some issues with air quality, but I did not know how bad it was. Thanks to the app, I figured out how to better manage the airflow in my house to improve the air quality.The filter that comes with the unit is not designed to handle smoke. So, I immediately ordered the Fresh filter to get the extra carbon filter for the smoke. I will use the Pure filter during the winter when I don’t have to worry about smoke.I run my unit on automatic and notice that after a few days, it pretty much just runs on the lowest setting. Even at higher settings, the fan is very quiet and I do not notice it when I am sleeping. The unit moves a good quantity of air and is a big help at keeping the air circulating.As for the app, it is very helpful. It graphs all of the data so you can review it to see how to use the machine most effectively for your home. My entire home is about 800sq feet, but I do keep a few rooms closed. It seems to do a good job in my hose. At night, I move it from the living room into my bedroom. It makes a nice addition to my ceiling fan to keep the air circulating.I am finally over all of the notifications and found the place to set the notifications. The air quality notifications can be adjusted to higher levels so you only get notifications when you want. The Temperature and humidity settings are not adjustable so I turned those off. You can operate all of the controls directly from the app. And, you can lock the settings so no one can mess with it.If you have multiple units you can check them all in just one place. I am very pleased with this unit and would purchase another if this one can not keep up with the wildfire smoke. Just make sure to get the filter that handles smoke if that is your primary concern.

Great smart air purifier!
I recently got the 35i model and it’s great. Living in the Pasadena area after the Eaton fire it’s really important to me to know that my house has clean air. The smart phone app lets you see exactly whats in your air.

Really nice air purifier, filters are expensive though
I really have heard nothing but great things about Alen purifiers, so I jumped on the opportunity to get one of my own. This little machine is great. I love that it’s essentially plug and play, but gives you the option of all the bells and whistles with the app. It was super easy to set up and it’s small enough that finding a good spot for it wasn’t that difficult. I did end up putting it on a surface, which isn’t the most aesthetically pleasing, but it works good to eliminate the dander and dust in our room. It has improved the quality of the air immensely and I notice it now when I sleep. The unit itself is quiet. My only complaint is that we are a 3 pet household and the filter will not survive a year with the amount of dander and dust we produce. I really wish the filters weren’t almost $70 after taxes.
