Very good salt for foot bath, mild pleasant smell
I use this Salt Soak not for sitz bath, but for foot bath or hot foot soaking. I do it at least once a week for foot spa care, before pedicure, and sometimes I feel that foot soaking help me to calm my mind, connect with body feelings, and even energy grounding when I have headaches. I typically use epsom salt or just regular salt adding several drops of essential oil. I love essential oils, have a great collection. However, lavender oil is not in my favorites. Mainly because it’s quite hard to find really good lavender essential oil with natural delicate smell. Most often, such oils have too strong, “chemical lavender” smells, which might be overwhelming for persons with smell sensitivity.This product appears to be a mix of dead sea salt and epsom salt with grains of medium size (1-3 mm). Yes, it is called “soothing lavender”, but besides lavender oil it contains many other oils like chamomile, tea tree, eucalyptus, clove, clary, orange etc. I found this combined smell as rather pleasant and delicate (to my nose taste), especially how this smell develops in hot water. My foot soaking with this salt relax not only my feet but my mind too, I feel calmed after a stressed day. And of course after such spa-type procedures, my feet are very soft and more ready for next application of foot cream and socks.Product is packaged in the USA. The pack contains 2 lb (0.9 kg) of salt, which may last for me several months if I use it weekly.

Soothing bath for postpartum care — or any time!
This is a generous, 2-pound bag of pleasant smelling bath salts packaged specifically for use in a sitz bath, but perfectly fine for use in any relaxing tub, spa or or other soaking activity (In case you’re wondering what a “sitz bath” is… it sure isn’t the type of bath pictured in the listing above)!It helps reduce irritation and inflammation during postpartum and/or post-surgery care, and can be a big relief for hemorrhoid sufferers as well. Overall, the product appears to be of good quality, and the combination of aromatic tea tree, lavender and chamomile scents calms the mind as well as the skin. Perfect for relaxing and/or soothing.

Excellent bath salts for a long soak
I did not order these bath salts for use in a sitz bath, but rather for general soaking purposes. I usually add some magnesium flakes, Epsom salts, or Dead Sea salts to my bath water when I want to soak for a while. This one seemed like it would have an interesting fragrance, so I decided to give it a try.Smelling it directly from the bag, it has a strong yet pleasant aroma. The tea tree oil dominates the other oils. The crystal size is nice and chunky; most are about a millimeter wide. They dissolve easily in hot water, and it created a new aroma— the lavender scent came through more strongly.I started with about 1/2 cup of these salts, then added another 1/2 cup because the aroma wasn’t quite strong enough. That amount was just right for a full tub of water.Overall, it provides an enjoyable, relaxing bath. At the dilution I used, the essential oils created a lovely atmosphere for a long, hot soak.

Intensely Strong Oils – would not use for wound care
I don’t have a bathtub at my house nor one of those little plastic things you put under the lid of a toilet for what doctors introduced the term Sitz bath to me originally. So I’ve held on to this bath soak until I got a foot bath to use them in. I’m sure glad that I did not plan to use them for hemorrhoids or fissure care because the salts are soaked in a very strong amount of essential oils and would surely burn an open wound. It even warns as much on the package.As soon as I opened the package I smelled the strong smell of lavender, eucalyptus, tea tree, chamomile, clove, orange peel, combined with other oils that I didn’t place immediately. It’s a very strong smell. It isn’t bad, but it’s strong. If I were using it for a bath, I would use much less than typical epsom salts just because the smell would be overpowering if I used a cupful as usual. It does say to use 4oz for a bath, which is half a cup. I might be inclined to start with 2oz.I believe it would be a very enjoyable, sensory experience to soak my entire body in them so I could breathe it in better. Using it in a foot bath, I am only partially enjoying the experience. These are very nice. I am just afraid of the burning sensation they warn about. That doesn’t sound like a good thing. I find the price to be quite high for 2 pounds of Epsom Salts. Incredibly high to be honest, so I can not say it’s a good value when they are available for so much less.
