RELIEF – finally!!
I have had stomach/digestive problems for years. I have had my gall bladder removed. I have had a Nissen Fundoplication (surgery to repair a hiatal hernia). Over the past 8 years+ (about 15 years since my surgery), I have had continual problems with my digestive tract. I had a colonoscopy a couple of years ago; nothing found. I have been on motility medication. I have gone through MANY A BOTTLES of Mylanta or the equivalent; that offered temporary relief, but I had to keep a bottle with me at all times. I started taking Pearls (original) several months ago and felt slightly better, but not enough to say I felt good. I ran out of the Pearls (original) in June, but had not replenished them. So, I went without for a couple of months. That was one of the worstvcouple of months!!! Anyway, I decided to try the Pearls Elite. I felt so much better.My system is moving on its own. I – for the most part – am able to sleep at night again. Exception: I sometimes eat foods (i.e. processed foods, anything already cooked and packaged, and birthday cake icing – that trigger the familiar digestive discomfort (possibly due to gluten intolerance), I occasionally have need of a bottle of a Mylanta equivalent. Overall, however, I feel so much better. I like the fact that these pills are small, tasteless, and don’t require refrigeration. I am about to order more now. I HIGHLY recommend Pearls Elite.UPDATE 5/5/12: Since my original post, I have confirmed that the underlying issues to my digestive tract issues was GLUTEN INTOLERANCE and INSUFFICIENT DIGESTIVE ENZYMES – and LACTOSE INTOLERANCE (which I already knew about). I have experienced crazy constipation for many years. It just seems that my digestive tract was paralyzed. Consequently, I was miserable. I didn’t feel well; I had no energy; I couldn’t think clearly enough to accomplish much of anything. Now that I have eliminated gluten, continue with the Pearls Elite, and take digestive enzymes with every meal, I feel a major difference. I really mean that. Now, if I slip on any of these things, I suffer. It seems that I need all of them. (Even though I take digestive enzymes and probiotics, I still use Lactaid whenever I am going to ingest a dairy product.)UPDATE 02/12/14: Had to change to a refrigerated probiotic.No longer felt the relief from the Pearls. It could be that I am no longer able to get the Pearl’s Elite, so I had to go to the original.

Not Nexium–Pearls Elite
I had suffered from gastritis (basically a stomachache) and my family doctor kept prescribing Zantac and Nexium…for a year and a half. I’d been to a GI Dr. and had an endoscopy and ruled out GERD, stomach cancer, and ulcer. Still…every morning I woke up with a stomachache, and dutifully took the prescriptions, which did not help the problem.This continued for a year and a half. I read the side effects for Nexium and they said nausea and headache. So I discontinued the Nexium…still the stomachache persisted. It was inhibiting my quality of life. I am an active 59 year old female.A friend recommended Pearls Elite, made by Enzymatic Therapy, from her and her sister’s personal experiences, so I decided to try it. I had tried Align and Nutraceutical Sciences Institute Probiotic 15-35 (both probiotics) with no success. My friend said she took 4 per day, though Pearls Elite recommended one a day.I took my first Pearl Elite on a Friday night in September 2011. Saturday morning I woke up feeling fine, and took my first pearl of the day. I felt fine all day and spaced out my 4 doses of Pearls Elite.My stomach has been perfect ever since. After suffering for a year and a half with prescriptions, I’ve been well for over a month.I still take 300 mg Zantac, split into four doses per day. I shall try to come off that, too. I’ll also try to reduce the number of pearls per day, because 4 a day is expensive.But it is worth it. What a miracle!

Great for digestion post abdominal surgery
I ordered these prior to having my c-section. I usually take the regular Enzymatic Therapy Probiotic Pearls Acidophilus but decided this time to try the elite because it has an extra dose of the good stuff. It’s very important during a c-section not to get constipated, which is really easy to do when you are being fed narcotic pain medication, your gut slows down from surgery and you are barely mobile. The regular Pearls have done a great job at keeping me regular prior to surgery so I thought I’d play it safe and get the elite to avoid any stomach issues. I did receive stool softeners regularly throughout my 5 day stay in the hospital. They definitely helped but I honestly think it was the Pearls that kept things functioning and gave me an advantage. I had read horror stories about the pain the first BM post surgery can bring. So I really tried to be on top of this and this product did not disappoint. I only wish it were a little less expensive. If it was – I would probably stick with these. But in a few weeks I will probably go back to the regular dose only because it is cheaper and by then I will be mostly healed and the regular should be fine.

Improved gut health and digestion. Helped me wean off prescription GERD meds.
I’ve been using this product for five or six years. The probiotics definitely improved my digestion and overall gut health. No more severe acid reflux!Before this product, I had been on prescription-strength H2 blockers and eventually PPIs. The medications worked, but long-term usage can lead to some side effects later in life, like increased osteoporosis risk. While I was willing to stay on the drugs if necessary, I wanted to exhaust other alternatives first. I took apple cider vinegar and tried some different supplements, but none of those options helped. Nature’s Way Probiotic Pearls was a game-changer, and I’ve been using this brand consistently with great results. If I travel and forget my probiotics, the acid reflux returns within a few days! If I switch to a different brand, I also notice a difference (perhaps because this has a high 5-billion active probiotic count, whereas most others have 1 billion). This worked to stabilize my digestion, and I hope it works for you too.Overall, great product. Highly recommended.
