Get them for post childbirth recovery, keep them for other uses
These ice packs/warmth packs are filled with gel beads and are the kind that is soft even when frozen. They can also be used for warmth therapy by warming them slightly in the microwave (be aware if you microwave them too strongly you could ruin them). You’re likely to want to wrap this in some thin cotton fabric or slip it into a clean thin sock before use. For perineal use this is best used when seated. They are excellent for the perineal region but one thing I like about this specific one is that after you no longer have that need they are still useful ice packs for other purposes such as icing a leg injury, because they are a simple long rectangular shape. For a leg injury I think I’d hold it in place with an ace bandage while elevating the leg. And for that matter, they could even be re-used later as ice packs in your lunch box, if no one would notice. The fact that I can easily imagine secondary uses for these ice packs makes me recommend them more highly. I think that makes them a better value.A larger number per package would be nice since they warm up after a while and you want to be able to swap out a cold one, but 2 will suffice to be a help for most users.

Coldness lasts 10-15 minutes
I got these to use on my abdomen as I have to ice it every week before giving myself a shot. I put one of the frozen ice packs in between my shirt and shorts right out of the freezer, and I’d say the coldness lasted about 15 minutes before most of it had come back to room temperature. The picture I took where you can see it slightly frozen in the middle is how it looked after that 15 minutes.I think if you’re using this on the perineal area, it would not last that long since it’s warmer down there. I think the super frozen coldness MIGHT last up to 10 minutes but not much more. Fortunately there are 2 ice packs so you could use the second one right after. But I think the age-old trick of freezing a regular pad would work better and last longer than these. These are also kind of short and wouldn’t give full coverage as a perineal ice pad. If it wasn’t JUST advertised as such then I’d be giving it 4 stars.

Amazing for itching and pain
I actually bought these not for postpartum recovery, but to help with itchiness and discomfort from yeast infections, and they’ve been incredibly soothing. The cooling relief is instant, and the packs are the perfect size and shape to use comfortably without feeling bulky or awkward.I really like that they can be used for both hot and cold therapy, though I mainly use them chilled. The gel stays flexible, even straight from the freezer, which makes them much more comfortable than regular ice packs. The covers are soft and easy to clean, and the packs themselves feel sturdy and reusable for a long time.Even though they’re designed for postpartum care, they’re also great for any kind of irritation, swelling, or soreness in sensitive areas. Definitely a smart and discreet product to have on hand for women’s health and comfort.

Perineal ice pack 👎
I’m disappointed. When you think of a Perineal anything, you think FULL front to back coverage. This isn’t even as long as a standard pad. So what’s gonna happen is it’s going to bunch and put pressure on the perineum and cause discomfort. Generally I love this style of ice pack with the individual beads, so it gets points there. But that’s it. Might be good to use for aches elsewhere but I wouldn’t bother with this for postpartum. Ask the staff before discharge to get a bunch to take home, those are full front to back coverage and skip this for that specific reason. Also has 0 paper instructions for heating or cooling temps to stick to, so if you do buy it screen shot the listing to have on hand.

Perfect size, got them for headaches/migraines
I was actually really excited to see these because they looked like they would be the perfect thing to put on my forehead when I have really bad headache/migraines. And they are! The shape and flexibility is perfect to lay across your forehead and help cool off a bad headache. I usually try to wet a washcloth and fold it up and that ends up dripping and being annoying to try and use.I see how they’re also perfect for postpartum, they are narrow and long enough but I saw them being good for a different use and they ended up being perfect!

Good proportions (nice and narrow) but I wish they were more malleable at 0° F
These packs are a good size for their intended use so I recommend them for cooling that area because they are narrow. The only negative about these is that, when frozen in a 0° F freezer, they are less malleable and more crystallized inside than my other ice packs which just have blue gel. The texture is fine, just not ideal because I prefer a very malleable texture. I ended up using my cheap blue ones folded lengthwise because they felt more comfortable. These are not a great value because of this preference, but maybe they would be fine if coming from freezers that aren’t as cold as mine.

Nice
Not a lot you can say as they are just ice packs. That being said they are nice ice packs. I like the shape and size of them in the instead of traditional jell seems kind of nice and a little bit more flexible , and they seem to hold the cold in a little bit longer
