Nice sized and pretty bowls – good replacement for plastic
I wanted to replace my plasticware and at the same time find something practical, not too heavy, microwaveable and dishwasher safe. These bowls fit the bill and then some (with one caveat, I’ll mention in a bit). They are generously sized and can fit an extra huge serving of cereal or salad and I love that they come with good sealing covers. I put water in a bowl and sealed it , put it upside down and it pass the no-leaking test. I also heated 1/2 bowl of water in the microwave to almost boiling (a little over 1 minute in my microwave). And the the bowl did not heat up, but the water definitely did. The design is pretty on these bowls and I see a lot of uses for them. It’s novel to use a product made mostly of straw, so I’m happy with that too.Now here is the caveat. Although these bowls are BPA free, they do contain polypropylene (you have to read way down in the description to see this). Nothing mentions the % and it could mostly be the lids, but I found this when researching whether they might shed microplastics: “Wheat straw bowls themselves don’t shed microplastics, as wheat straw is a natural material. However, many reusable wheat straw bowls contain a small amount of food-grade plastic, like polypropylene (PP), to make them durable, microwave-safe, and long-lasting. These added plastics, if they degrade over time due to damage or prolonged use, could potentially shed microplastics..”Overall I think these are a healthier substitute for plastic bowls and I plan to enjoy and use these a lot.

Love these bowls
So I got the mixed-color pack, it comes with blue, green, orange, and yellow. The lids are matching colors, and the whole set is really sturdy. I’ve dropped them more than a couple of times and nothing has cracked or broken (even the lids are still in 1 piece!).I do like that the lids are clear, so I can see exactly what’s inside before I take it out of the fridge. The lids do seem pretty sturdy and mostly air-tight but they are NOT leak-proof. If you’re carrying something like soup or cereal with the lid on, you’ll probably be fine, but don’t expect to tip them upside down and not make a mess.Overall, these are def worth the price (21.99 USD atm for 4 bowls, all the colors are the same price). The only way to get the yellow or orange is to buy the multi-color set, and if I could change 1 thing it would be to make them available as 4 piece sets as well as making a ‘black and white’ set, otherwise these are great!

Can fit a generous helping of food in these bowls
They look exactly as advertised and the colors in the multi pack are pleasant, not gaudy or bold. The size is larger than the average soup bowl. Can fit a generous sized meal for an adult, or use as a family snack bowl. Although they’re unbreakable, I feel they are too large to serve a child’s meal in. My husband no longer uses a plastic storage bowl for his cereal! The sides have a swirly design, which looks fine but doesn’t make the bowl less slick. I’m not aware of the difference between plastic bowls and these fiber/plastic bowls other than the fact they’re non-toxic, which is a plus. Note, it’s recommended to microwave no longer than 3 minutes so this may eliminate the possibility of heating some frozen items, and the reduced heating time is the reason I rated lower. The bowl’s a little more flexible after heating and I suppose could melt or warp, after 3 minutes or if very hot food is added. Otherwise, theses bowls can take a beating.

Practical bowls that handle real life well
We picked up this set of cereal bowls for everyday use and they are working nicely around here. The 40 oz size is more than enough for cereal, soup, or leftovers, and having lids makes transporting food much less of a mess. The material is wheat straw fiber and polypropylene… solid and not easily breakable. I like that they are unbreakable so they survive drops or rough handling better than regular bowls. The lids snap on securely and keeps things from spilling, which is helpful when moving food from kitchen to couch or outdoors. Cleaning is simple and they are dishwasher safe so I do not worry about wearing them out quickly. The look is clean and modern enough that they fit in with all our other dishes without clashing. One thing to keep in mind is that when the lids are securely fastened, you need to make sure everything is aligned properly or it can feel slightly tight to close or open. Despite that the benefit of having large, durable, leak proof bowls outweighs that minor annoyance. These delivers good utility without fuss. If you want bowls that are tough, generous in size, and convenient for meals and storage this set is a solid pick.

Durable, functional bowls
I don’t know what happens to all of my dishes, but they disappear into some black hole from which they never reemerge. I ordered these bowls to replace the many that have gone missing. They are the perfect size for cereal or soup–lots of room. I love that they are dishwasher and microwave safe, and the lids fit snugly if storing food in the fridge or freezer. Also, they won’t break if dropped–a common occurrence at my house. These bowls are attractive yet functional. They come in a nice variety of colors to complement any decor. I have not had any issues with staining from spaghetti sauce, nor have the bowls scratched on the bottom, like previous wheat straw bowls I have bought. The bowls stack inside of each other to minimize the amount of cabinet space needed for storage. This set of 4 bowls is durable, functional, and worth the price paid. Definitely recommend!!
