Love it!
Works great. Bought it for my CPAP, humidifier and plants and it has saved me a ton of money. It runs fairly quiet and doesn’t take up much room on my counter. Just one button so super simple. I like that it’s easy to clean. I bought a second jug and I use it almost daily.

Excellent and reliable distiller
Waited to submit a review after using for a good while. This is an excellent, simple, distiller.

Don’t return until you clean the chamber with citric acid
This post comes after my second purchase. I was happy with the first purchase other than the fact that I needed to do two things that weren’t in the instructions. The instructions state that you simply need to distill one to two gallons of water to clean the boiling chamber to remove the plasticky or metallic taste. I didn’t want to give up on the first one I bought because I could tell that it was in a decent product. After the water tasted strange after 2 gallons of distilled water I ended up using the citric acid that it comes with to clean the chamber. I put in a heaping tablespoon and filled the chamber almost all the way up. Not all the way up because I didn’t want it to boil over. That seemed to do the trick.Just purchased a second one today. The first thing I did was put in a heaping tablespoon of citric acid and fill it with water all the way to the top. I let it boil for 30 minutes without the lid on. Turned it off so the water could cool down a little bit for about 30 more minutes, rinsed it out with warm water really well. Distilled 1 gallon (without the carbon filter so I wouldn’t leave any residue on that) that I poured down the drain. Put the carbon filter back in and made a second gallon that was crystal clear and tasted very pure.I wish the directions would have stated to clean the chamber initially with the citric acid. There seems to be a residue in that chamber that wouldn’t clean off completely with my old soap and water. Both distillers are working great.A lot of people complain about rust but that’s just what is in the water. Keep the unit clean and that should avoid it. Also, I use room temperature water so it doesn’t take so long to start producing clean water

Gets the job done—cleaning tips, complaints, comments
I bought this so I wouldn’t have to buy, lug, and store gallons upon gallons of distilled water in my apartment to run the humidifier I use to keep my guitar from drying out and cracking in thecwinter air. This distiller works like a charm, so 4 stars. 1 star off because I do have a list of complaints:- I have very hard city water. The amount of junk left over in the metal tub after a cycle is shocking. It bakes on (stinks!) and is impossible to wipe off. Better than spewing it all into the air via humidifier though.- The cleaning process is both easier and harder than it looks. It ships with a bottle of citric acid crystals. Go ahead and order yourself a bulk 2 pound bag or two of those things, you’ll need them. Throw 3 or 4 tablespoons of crystals into a fully filled distiller tub, and run a cycle with the top off. The scale will disappear in about 30-40 minutes, no muss no fuss. I like to poke at the scale now and again with a spatula while this is going on, but I’m a neurotic overachiever. It is NOT clear or easy how (or whether?) to clean the top part with the coils and fan. Do these need to be unscrewed, taken apart, cleaned, reassembled? Who knows??- This thing uses a lot of electricity and puts out a lot of heat. I ran it about 15 times and my power bill jumped $9 for the month (from $50 to $59, so it was noticeable). That could be because winter and price increase, or distiller use. Can’t tell yet. It does release a LOT of heat. I run it in my bathroom and it makes the room into a sauna. Great for winter! Toasty tile floor! That’s not great energy efficiency though.- It’s loud! I run it in the bathroom so I can close the door. If I ran it in my apt kitchen I would not be able to hear anything else, it’s about as loud as the over-stove fan set on low.- If you have long hair and run this thing on the floor, FOR THE LOVE OF CTHULU hold your hair back when you turn this thing on. The fan on top WANTS to grab your hair. You will cry.Over all, this thing does the job and even with my list of complaints and increase in electricity bill, it’s nice having distilled water on demand instead of having to go to the store and put more plastic jugs in the recycle bin where they probably won’t be recycled anyway. And even with that $9 jump in power bill, for at least 15 gallons worth of water it’s half the price of store bought.

Seller is Totally Unresponsive
This distiller is of decent quality and worked fine for 11 months, then the switch just stopped working. The only way to turn the distiller on and off is to plug and unplug it. It is still operational. According to the paperwork, the distiller has an 1 year warranty, so I contacted the seller exactly as they designate, yet received no response. I sent a follow up email – no response. My guess is they want to drag their feet until the warranty period is up, so they don’t have to do anything about the problem I am having. Given the various options to purchase a distiller, I would stay away from this seller because if you have any problems, you are on your own.UPDATE: After posting my initial review, the seller did contact me and after much discussion and runaround, they did, finally issue me a partial refund. You should be aware that their 1 year warranty is prorated, so if you have a problem, even in month 2, they will not refund your money or send you an operational unit. In my case, I had the unit for 11 months when the switch stopped working, so they offered me a less than $10 refund. Again, after much discussion, they increased the refund to just under $22. I guess that is reasonable, but it is not reasonable that a unit should only be fully functional for less than a year. Preplanned obsolescence I guess. Bottomline, don’t assume a 1 year warranty is a full warranty – proration is the name of the game with this company. . .saves them money, I guess, but it also lost them a continued customer.

I purchased the unit because I have a CPAP and didn’t want to lug around jugs from stores to home. Easy to set up, easy to use, and not loud. Totally worth the money.

Received December 10 2024. The steel 304 bottom, food grade steel, began to stain within first month and continued to become degraded until April 22 2025, when my sprout seeds failed to sprout using distilled water from the distiller. Also crock of sauerkraut fermenting turned to mush. I bought this last November, delivered December 10 2024. Shortest life of any distillers. All distillers made with 304 steel (food grade) may not last one year.Vendor ignoring request for replacement or refund. There listed email address returns mail as undeliverable. Would not buy from them again.

I have used more expensive water distillers of the same size and general look that have heated to a very high temperature such that when the water drips out of the spout it is very hot. This unit simply was warm to the touch on the outside container when dispensing the water – though the water drops coming out were cool, and not hot whatsoever.
