Great little tool, shape/design. I use the 15″ the most by far
I had never used bamboo spatulas before, but I saw great reviews about them. Of course I support the environment and renewable resources like bamboo, so that’s a plus. They still haven’t broken down in two years. My regular old wooden spoons used to fray and get fuzzy, but not these so far! They last much longer. They can even take a lot of heat (don’t ask.) I can scrape vigorously to get the bits up off the bottom of my regular pans and yet not scratch my nonstick pans. They’re great for scraping the bottom of a vat of chili–ooh and they don’t stain! They clean up nicely/smoothly. I don’t feel there are teeny bits of food still in there. I wind up using the angled edge for a lot of things. Sometimes I need a pointier edge to move things around more specifically and sometimes a round one for getting things out of the corner of a round pan. The flat side is great for getting food or sauces off the side of a straight sided pan. It cuts well too right in the pan–even green peppers or meat. I use the 15″ the most. I like the 18″ for more splattery cooking/frying. I use the 13″ the least.

Well made and excellent for use on cold, warm or hot meals!
I have always leaned towards grabbing my mother’s old, large, wooden spoon! My mother’s spoon is nearing the century mark as her mother used it often before handing it down. So what is so special about a wooden spoon? Ever have a melamine/plastic spatula snap in half as you tried to mix that delicious batch of potato salad? Wooden spoons tend to not only provide you leverage but rarely break unless you are trying to break one! They hold up well against weight, mixing almost anything (always buy your wooden spoon/spatula/mixing spoon with a long handle that is thick like these offered by Joyce Chen. They are well made and you have extreme confidence when you are mixing anything that is heavy and that you are trying not crush or mash! Though these wooden utensils would mash anything fairly well! My preference has been to do a quick wash in the sink and not place them in the dishwasher- to prevent the wood from drying out.

Good enough, but not as high quality as in the past
This tool is a nice shape for stir-frying. I’ve had two others I bought ~20 years ago that I’ve loved using. These new tools have a rougher surface, as if they’re not oiled enough. They’re also quite a bit lighter than the older ones. But basically because of the shape, are good enough for my purposes.

Great quality and larger than I thought!
This flat spoon is awesome for stir fry’s and all kinds of stove top cooking. I how was expecting it to be small but it’s thick and sturdy and has a long handle. I love it.

Terrible product – I threw mine out
I have some old Joyce Chen bamboo products – they are beautiful pieces of bamboo wood with a natural smooth surface and a pleasant touch to the wood. You can feel the quality and you want to hold it in your hand.I don’t know what happened to the Joyce Chen line, but the new bamboo products are terrible. They are from inferior bamboo with impossible to remove labels stuck tenaciously to the back of the bowl of the spoon. But that isn’t the worst problem – which is that the cheap bamboo is covered with a nasty pale yellow shellac or varnish, unevenly applied and unevenly adhering to the wood. Who knows what that is made out of (it’s made in China) but I don’t want it near any of my food, and I can’t stand the feel of it in my hand. If I scratch it with my fingernail it flakes off – yuck. This isn’t the nice piece of bamboo that helps me in the kitchen – it is a cheap varnished piece of wood (albeit bamboo) that goes straight in the garbage.

Favorite kitchen utensil
I have owned one of these for over 15 years and it is my favorite kitchen utensil. I work and live in two different cities so decided to buy a second one for my work apartment. This version is slightly larger, 2-3 mm and works just as well. Wonderful long lasting product!

I LOVE these. We do many stir fry dishes and …
This is the second spatula I have purchased. That being said, I LOVE these. We do many stir fry dishes and these are great. I can leave the spatula in the food while it is cooking and not have to worry about it melting or transfering wood flavor to the food. It is great for nonstick pans. I have almost the whole collection of Joyce Chen bamboo accessories. I have purchased other brands that were not as good. These are burnished so there are no splinters and they are super easy to wash after using.I highly recommend these!!

Great for stir frying just about anything. Not afraid of melting it like my plastic turners. Looks great, fits nicely in the hand. Very high quality. Would recommend!

Not bad, I find the handle slightly too large/thick to fit super comfortably in my hands but otherwise works as expected and the slanted spoon was exactly what I wanted. However, I also do think you can find similar bamboo spoons for cheaper elsewhere.

3 of the 4 I ordered have deffects which were covered with a sticker label. They all had a knotch in the back of the spoon. I know they were only 5 bucks but still.Going to look into a refund.
