Why did you pick this product vs others?:When I bought my first home, I wanted to have natural wood products in my kitchen. I wanted to get away from the glass or porcelain plates. I like my acacia wood cutting board and I saw that I could get them in serving size. They are not to big or small. They hold the right food portion. They go very well with my color scheme in my kitchen.

Purchased for Feasting
We purchased these wooden bowls for feasting during the ren faire/SCA events. Out of the box they are very handsome and lightweight and smooth. Both have a small hole plugged with wood putty in the center where I presume it was on a lathe maybe. I’m wondering how food safe that is. The description said it has a food grade coating so I’m presuming it can handle hot foods. I will update this review if any problems arise. I’m only docking a star because I want to try them before giving a five star rating. I will update.

I bought 1 set of 4 … they’re solid, well-made and have a lip to prevent spills. I absolutely love these bowls and use daily. I plan on ordering a second set and the plates. Awesome product! Hopefully, Lavaux will restock the plates so I can get rid of my stoneware.

large and solidly built
Pros- built SOLID, and large (soda added for scale), so if you are using these for normie reasons they make great salad or large chili bowls. If, like me, you are a huge geek and use them for feast gear for reenactments and want something to work as either plate or bowl, these fit the bill perfectly. The bottom is flat, giving them stability for general use and allowing them to hold food more plate-like than most bowls, and it looks good as well.Cons- tiiiiny crack on the lip of one of the ones I got, not unexpected for actual wood and it doesn’t compromise the structure of the bowl. But, it might be something to look out for when you order. I didn’t ding it any stars as it was from a natural knot in the wood grain, and having done carpentry I know how unpredictable and unavoidable things like that can be with knots.

Sehr schöne Schüsseln in guter Qualität! Ich benutze sie nun seit ein paar Monaten regelmäßig für so ziemlich alles – ob Suppe, Pasta, Salat oder Müsli. Die Größe ist perfekt für eine gute Portion und es schwappt so schnell nichts über beim Tragen.Sie sind einfach zu reinigen und haben keine nervigen Ecken, an die man mit dem Schwamm schlecht rankommen würde.Der einzige Nachteil ist, dass sie nicht wirklich gut stapelbar sind und viel mehr Platz im Schrank einnehmen. Dafür kann man aber alles darin anrichten und spart sich somit weiteres Geschirr. Außerdem sind sie quasi unkaputtbar, es sei denn, man stellt sie auf Feuer. Somit sind sie absolut nachhaltig, was mir gut gefällt.Die Investition lohnt sich in meinen Augen total!
