Beautiful aesthetic pitcher and great tasting water
This is a very sleek pitcher which looks great and I like that its made of glass. Its small enough not to take a lot of space in my smaller refrigerator and the water, though it takes long to filter a pitcher (an hour) tastes better than Brita in my opinion. I like that it filters bacteria too and the instructions on putting it together were good and necessary because figuring out how to insert the filter and get it set up wasn’t intuitive for me.

Fresh clean water anytime
These water filters are visually beautiful. I keep mine on top of the kitchen counter for easy access throughout the day. It does take time for the water to filter but once the pitcher is full it dispenses quickly which I like. Refilling is as easy as bringing the pitcher directly under the water faucet allowing the top to automatically open without having to remove it. Very convenient! The most important part, the filtered water tastes great! I would also keep the pitcher in the frig so I can have chilled water on demand. The 7cup size was perfect for me but I would consider the 10cup size if your family drinks a lot of water. The silicone base is a great added feature that helps from slipping.

Slow, heavy, filters through plastic
People are not joking when they say it takes 3 hours to fill the pitcher.I did prime the filter properly. And have filled it a few times. The main issue isn’t even that the water comes out about as slow as about 1 drip every 2 seconds. The problem is you have to fill up the pre-filter water holder 7 times to fully fill the container. If you only had to fill it once or twice you could just put it in the fridge and let it do its job. But I have to leave this thing sitting on my counter for 3 hours so I remember to add water to it 7 frickin times before its full. And no, this is not an exaggeration.Amazon forces me to drive to UPS to return items which is 45 minutes from where I life so I am stuck with this terrible product. And if you are just trying to eliminate plastics from your kitchen, keep in mind the water sits inside a plastic holder and both the filters are housed in plastic which the water passes through. When full, it weighs as much as a large cast iron pan. If you aren’t going to the gym regularly, this may not be the best option.

Very slow but effective water filter
I’ve been trying to cut out as much plastic from my kitchen as possible so I invested in this glass filter to replace my brita. The design is nice, I love the way it looks & I like how much heavier it is than my brita pitcher. The water does taste more crisp & cleaner than my brita but the filter is so so so slow, it takes forever for the water to work through it. Which is annoying but also makes me feel like it’s doing a better job than your standard water filters, I have no clue if that’s accurate but in my head it makes logical sense that a higher quality filter with more “layers” in place to filter out more impurities would take longer. I drink a lot of water so I do wish it had a larger capacity but I’d still buy it again.

BETTER than Brita and PUR
Why is it better than Brita and PUR? For starters, it’s a glass pitcher and not plastic. The glass is very similar to Pyrex quality grade glass but just a bit thicker. Because of this, the pitcher does get heavy when it is full of water.Second, most water filters filter out everything including the essential minerals found in water like magnesium and potassium that the human body actually needs to help sustain good health and hydration. The filtration system (which is a 2-stage system) removes bacteria, parasites and microplastics that have been found in some water sources. In addition, it greatly reduces any lead, mercury and over 30 other types of chemicals that have been classified as “forever chemicals” (look into these further and you will be shocked as to what they are, trust me!)Third, the 2-stage filtration system that it uses (microfilter and activated carbon plus ion exchange filter) is what makes it so unique. This system is what actually helps make whatever water you filter through taste better. Just as a note, the microfilter is good for 1 year or 260 somewhat gallons of water. The activated carbon plus ion exchange filter is good for about 2 months or 40 gallons of water.Yes, it is pricier than a Brita or PUR water filter pitcher. But the benefits you get will from a Lifestraw water filter pitcher definitely outweighs the price. I’ve used it when making regular hot coffee or tea and cold brew coffee or tea and it really has made a difference in the overall taste and after taste of each drink.

Best tasting water ever!!!
The taste difference alone is worth this pitcher’s cost! The first few cycles through the filter are extremely slow, but they tell you that in the instructions. Afterwards my only complaint is for myself – I should have bought a bigger pitcher!! I’ve always been a water drinker, but this tastes so good I have to stop myself from drinking because I think I might be drinking too much! I haven’t done any chemical testing so I have to rely on official statements or reviews however I love this pitcher. I currently add water every time I fill my glass so might not be ideal but for me I’m good with it. If you live in a household with other less helpful individuals buy a bigger size. They say 7 cups but for the glass I use daily it’s only two.

It takes far too long for the water to filter through and it has to be done several times to fill up the jug; almost impossible to do in a day!Having said that, the water tastes good and feels smooth.

The water tastes great, the bottle is beautiful and the filter is easy to install. Wished it costed less, but the filters do seem to work, so all in all still cheaper than buying bottled water from the supermarket. Used daily.

A bit fiddily to set up but not too difficult. I needed to use a screwdriver to release bottom part to fit carbon filter. My 7 cup glass water pitcher is quite heavy and I need two hands to lift it when pouring water into a glass. Takes a very long time to fill with water from tap. But I guess that is a sign that the micro filter is doing its job.Filtered water tastes great, so probably worth the effort.
